You gotta start making these meet-ups farther from my house. The distance pedalled is not enough for the booze downed. When they are someplace like GV, I can justify my alcohol consumption by burning it off to cycle home.

    Sounds good :D

Ha, are we supposed to cram 30 or so people into some hole in the wall bar instead?

If you actually attended more than one happy hour per year then you'd know that the CU crew can have fun at any venue.

Bar 23 was a blast last week. The owners were extremely hospitable and provided us with around a dozen free pizzas.

The patio at Eddie George's Grille should be equally as fun. School is out for the summer, so we're likely to have the patio to ourselves.

    :D

I think we need to hit Gresso's patio by the end of the summer.

I was pretty impressed. Every time I saw one of the owners he was running out two more pizzas and telling everyone to help themselves. He kept telling the girls to come check on us all the time too.

    Was a good time.

    +1

I chatted with them back when it was much much colder outside, and they were into it. I'll see if they want to do one soon.

So many patios, so little time. ;)

    Yay!

I've met the owner Eric a couple times. He seems like a really cool guy.

I'm well aware of the potential for fun at types of events, I've been to several in the past year...Tip Top, Surly Girl, Xaliscos, etc.

I also understand the need for a larger patio and having to choose such benign places to accomodate everyone.

I just feel there could be a more prevailing location and am expressing that opinion on this discussion forum.

No harm intended, you're like the brother I never had.

Suggestions for new locations are always welcome. Throw some out there.

We're trying to keep it fresh and keep it local. I imagine a lot of people on CU have avoided places like Eddie George's because of the sometimes overwhelming student crowd. Which is why this is a perfect spot for the summer. Who knows. Some people might end up liking it and coming back.

Can I ask if you've ever been to Eddie George's Grill before?

Because if not... You. Should. Try. New. Things.

I've never been to EG, for a variety of reasons that aren't conducive to this thread.

This post isn't either, but I don't want to be labeled narrow-minded.

I try many new things. And my opinion, while perhaps shared or disagreeable, is not a reason to get offensive.

He is a good guy. He used to teach English at my high school and was our key club adviser. I need to get down there.

Everything I've had there ranged from "meh" to awful.

However, as long as the beer is cold, then happy hour should be successful.
