I for one, am a fan of the happy hour right after work. Sometimes drinking just can't wait until 6...Or 4:00
Precisely; I get off work at 3:30 and when I have a day like today...

Just wanted to say that I had a really great time tonight. Happy to see a lot of regulars and newbies/lurkers (potentially converted?!?) alike at Cantina tonight. ;)
I know park street gets a lot of flak for being "that one place" but essentially, I had a great time with great people tonight, and that's really all I can ever ask for.
See you all next month! :D Speaking of which... time to start planning next month...
That was fun! Tomorrow is gonna hurt, oooof :(
I will definitely hit that place up again for those $5 mini booze pitchers. Also, nachos were awesome. Fiesta Friday Success.
Walker: It was nice to finally officially meet you. The last time I went to a Meet Up, I was totally guilty of lurking. Oh the shame!
KSquared: You were absolutely hilarious! So good meeting you.
somertimeoh: Wassup Betty White! Glad you told me your icon, it made it so much easier to remember.
Looking forward to the next Meet Up and hope to be less of a lurker. =)
I had a great time too. Cool place!
loved the new layout, maybe not my crowd but they should do very well. the music was all over the place but i just couldnt get over the layout and how great the flow was.

Awe, man... I should have come out. I got carried away cleaning house...lol such a domesticated man I am.
I enjoyed the after hours...how better to wash down buckets of margaritas than with buckets of long island iced tea. I woke up with diabeetus the next morning...no hangover though. Go figure. :)
And I'm with Sherm, Cantina is def not my kinda crowd, but they've done a really nice job revamping that space.
that suga gonna take that foot!
I did enjoy that we were roped off from the rest of the place. Not sure if that was to keep people out or keep us in. Hmm. It was uttered that "Nobody keeps hipsters in the corner," and our takeaway is the million dollar idea to make a Target clothing line for hipsters.
Y'all crack me up. That place was no more or less douchey than any of the bars in the Short North on a Friday night by the time we left. And I'm sure if we would have asked them to move the music to the White Stripes channel they would have, there just wasn't a need since we knew we were moving. Do I want to deal with the mess of Park St after Happy Hour? No, but it's not hard to get out before that stuff starts. It was a perfectly enjoyable evening, those bartenders were really nice, and the tabs were insanely cheap. Not everywhere can be the well kept secret of SJT.
It's actually a less "douchy" crowd than most of those bars...more felt like I'd walked into a bar in the 'burbs...at least in the front patio...lots of middle aged dudes in polo shirts embarassing their dates by trying to "dance" and be awesome or whatever that was. I actually wouldn't have noticed it much had I not heard a guy get lectured for it by his gf when I was walking to the potty...funny shit.
ACTUALLY there were way more assclowns at Char Bar than at Cantina. But in general, Char Bar is also in my list of not really my kinda place to hang out on a regular basis.
Those Cantina nachos were supergood.
i would def be down for another HH.
me too since we werent able to make it.
I've always been one of those "Ew Park St" people but I actually enjoyed my time at the Cantina. Staff was nice, beer was quite cold, pizzas were pretty good. I usually favor quiet bars because I'm a bit of a curmudgeon and I left earlier than you whippersnappers, but it was fine with me while I was there. Amazing how sometimes things aren't so bad when I give them a chance :) There are still places that aren't a good fit for me (Brothers, Gaswerks) but the Cantina was just fine.
