Hey! Welcome to the site! ;)
I believe CU supplies a complementary monocle for people with contact lens issues.
 man this week just gets better and better!
See there! Look at that! Behold the Power of the Craigslist "Missed Connections" section.
Not only do I know her name now, but she became a member of the CU and even posted!

You have to link to it in the "avatar control panel" section of your profile & it can be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels.
If you find an image you like online but it's too big, PM me the address & I'll resize it and host it for you. (I've done this for several people, it's no big deal)
what about using a photo? not online.

http://www.imageshack.us offers this as well, and auto-resizes it for an avatar as well.

I always wondered myself. CU needs a tutorial or How To? section.

sure thing! you just have to scan it first, then crop it down to the desired image.
I host my images through Imageshack too, so that's the way to go for me. I crop them in Photoshop first though, so I don't know if the resizing function in Imageshack offers that option.
I'm all for autonomy, but like I said, if anyone wants help or sees a picture they want for their avatar, just PM me the address or email me the picture & I'll set it up for you. Or I can walk you through it. I'm always looking for some sort of distraction from my paying gig.
But it's pretty fun when everyone has cool little avatars…not that I ever change mine. Maybe I'll conjure up something new today.
