The public is not always aware of circumstances when it comes to business, until today I the owner have been dealing with an health issue, right after I opened I found a lump needless to say it has been trying, I have kept the doors open and have been working through it, I am pleased to announce I just found out today it is not cancer! So look out people now I can move forward and get some things done!

Situated in a comfortably renovated former bar in the Merion Village area, Coyote Jane's is a recent venture from the owners of Banana Bean Cafe.
It seems to be in the process of finding itself: The hours tend to vary, the kitchen doesn't support the full (and interesting) Southwest-oriented menu at any given time, and an aura of uncertainty rules. The menu descriptions and what's served are frequently at odds.

I have been to CJs several times now and find the food and the service uneven. I now sit at the bar, which helps a lot. Last night I had the nachos, which are a screaming deal and pretty good. Homemade chips, lots of cheese, chilis, and beans (I'm vegetarian) and a huge, and I mean huge amount of them- enough for two as a main course. All in all if you can figure out what to order and sit at the bar it is a good food experience. They are about to open for brunch on Saturdays and I have high hopes. I think (just as it did at Banana Bean) it will take Robin a while to sort it out. The menu is evolving and if she can stay in business long enough I think that CJs will turn out to be a good eatery. Go and try the nachos at the bar (they also have a decent beer selection- including Magic Hat, which I love).

I'm always nervous about Coyote Jane's. I love its potential more than the overall experience I've had there. While I agree that the service can be uneven, I have had very good meals there on multiple occasions. However, I'm worried that its South Side address combined with a single bad experience or review could be enough to keep people away.

I liked the food, but I stuck with the mexican dishes. Nachos were some of the best I've had in town.

Lord sweet Mary just read Johns review of Coyotes if your going to continue to do reviews you might want to throw in some honesty in the mix (Coyote Janes remark on their fb page about review in Weekender)
Plan on going Tuesday to see what all the talk is about...prepared to wait....

I saw on FB that the owner of Coyote Jane's has sold it in order to focus on Banana Bean Cafe more. No word about whether Coyote Jane's is closing or re-opening under new management or what.

I too am hoping for a place that is more consistent(and yummy). As a family that only lives three blocks away, we tried to love Coyote Jane's. However after five visits with inconsistent food and service, we just couldn't justify the money. In the meantime, we will stick with The Skillet and keep our fingers crossed for a great establishment in Coyote Jane's spot.

To everyone that came into Coyotes I have sold the business. The guys that have bought the business are great guys and is looking forward to serving up some great food for you all...go support them and welcome them to the neighborhood....thanks again everyone it was alot of fun.....
