anyone heard of this phenom yet?

uh... i did it once or twice with my friends when we were in middle school...
I tried it a few times in high school. we must have had defective cows because they just looked at us and mooooo'd. Then we stepped in cow shit. I suspected the whole thing was a scam perpetrated by the cows to lure us into their fields and step in their fungal pockets.
blammo wrote fungal pockets.
You did it! I KNEW you'd find a way to work that phrase in somewhere! A plate of hero cookies to you!
Had a buddy in high school who worked at the OSU dairy barns, and it's one of those things where all my friends swore they'd done it...but I'd never been invited, nor did anyone want to do it again.
I'm kind of convinced that you should wrap up all cow tipping events with a good old fashioned snipe hunt.

Oh, I'm sure this is just the beginning of that one...
i grew up around cows, my dad had some cows. i've never seen cows sleep standing up.
also...
My aunt and uncle had cow's and sheep pigs and etc.. had the same experience as blammo, then we had to run away from a bull that that wanted to help us launch over the fence. lol
columbusnative I almost spit my coffee when I saw the cowtip post. brought back lots of memories growing up related to this topic! 8)
Well I am glad that I got you all going on the subject, but the cow tipping that I speak of is very different from all of these stories. I was hoping that someone would actually chime in with what I am speaking about. it is actually an event that is going to happen next weekend in the Grandview area. I would really love to see a presence of CU members at the event itself. MORE DETAILS TO COME..............................
I tip my cows at least 15%, 20% for an exceptional job.
My guess is this has something to do with cowtown pizza? and or grandview hop?

Are we in the twilight zone?

No, it's just the shrooms.

Interesting and very smart guess there kess!
I have considered that CowTown pizza should be at the event, but no said connection has been made yet! although I love me some Cowtown Pizza anytime.
The grandview hop will also be going on during/around this said event, but is not the location or event itself.
I will say that Art and the word Cowtown do come into play though.

Cow tipping will be a fund raising event that will feature past and current works from 12 amazing local artists in the genre of Lowbrow artwork. This collective of artists was the brain child of local artist and art teacher Dan Gerdeman. Gerdeman created the group which he dubed Cowtown Lowbrow or commonly know inside the group as the cowbrow's. The Cowtown Lowbrow collective inspires to show work across Ohio during 2009/2010 at some of the states finer college galleries and museums. Cow Tipping will present a preview of the style of work to be expected form the group and will have works from $30 to $300, but with most of the works being in the lower bracket. We as a group seek to make $500 or more in sales to provide printing costs for the catalogs and submission packets we plan on using to land future venues.

I have always maintained that cow tipping is an "urban" legend. I grew up with cows. they weigh a lot. This weight is evenly distributed over four legs. It would be hard for even a lot of kids to tip over a cow. A cow would not let a lot of people walk right up to her and attempt to tip her over. The cow would walk away from you. Cows do not sleep standing up. Most farmers bring their cows in during the night. if a cow becomes pissed off at you, it will run towards you even if it doesn't have horns. Even without horns, you will not be happy if a cow runs towards you.
agreed urban legend, potential to damage yourself, property or cows...
nice online trick to plug a show though ;p
