County government might be reshaped

From the million-plus residents of Franklin County to the people in sparsely populated Vinton County, nearly all Ohioans live under the same form of county government. Some think that should change. Twenty years ago, Delaware County voters overwhelmingly rejected a switch to a council of 14 elected members from the three-commissioner board still in use today. But that was 1991, when the county was home to fewer than 70,000 people. Now, it’s approaching 200,000 residents.
