COTA seeks public comment regarding Northeast Corridor area service alternatives
COLUMBUS—Four public meetings will take place regarding the Northeast Corridor Alternatives Analysis (NECAA) project to update the community and gather input on possible service improvements along Cleveland Avenue.
To help address growing demand for public transit service in the Cleveland Avenue area, COTA is exploring alternatives to improve service in the Northeast Corridor. COTA’s efforts combined with city, county and other agencies are designed to help enhance the Northeast Corridor by providing quality, affordable housing; promoting economic development opportunities; and improving mobility options. One alternative being discussed for this corridor is Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
A second round of public meetings is being held to help advance to the next stage of the project where service alternatives will be chosen for detailed analysis. COTA will review information on the Corridor’s existing conditions and project’s purpose, needs and goals. Then, an evaluation of preliminary service alternatives and recommendations for further analysis will be presented for feedback.
