Panel to discuss bus turnaround

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

A citizens advisory panel plans to meet Monday night to discuss alternative sites for Central Ohio Transit Authority buses to turn around in Clintonville.

The public meeting will be 7 to 9 p.m. at the North Community Evangelical Lutheran Church, 114 Morse Rd. State Rep. John Patrick Carney, D-Clintonville, will serve as facilitator for the meeting. Only members of the North High Street Project Citizens Advisory Committee will be permitted to speak at the meeting.

Appears somebody at COTA possesses a level of intelligence after all.

The old TACO BELL location has made the top of the list for the permanent turnaround in Graceland.

Two sites eyed for Clintonville bus turnaround

COTA officials met with Clintonville area residents tonight to discuss the final stages of a deal to construct a bus turnaround just north of Graceland Shopping Center.

COTA says there are two potential sites: a used car dealership at 5160 N. High and a vacant house at 5132 N. High.

How much will moving the turnaround affect the amount of bus traffic currently going in and out of Graceland? They have torn up the roads so bad it's like driving through Beirut. I know there's still stops in there, but I wonder if there will be a significant enough decrease that the center owners will repave.

If I were a grocery shopping bus-rider at that Kroger, I would like switch to Target.

The original article says that Casto has plans to develop the spot where the bus stops over there by Kroger. So I guess they're kicking COTA out. It's private property.

But yeah, bad news for bus-riding Kroger shoppers. That's a long walk from High Street.

I'm just hoping that it's not going to be at Kanawha and High since I live only a few houses down from that corner. That was the talk for awhile, but I think it's been tossed aside, thankfully.

Neighbors Concerned About COTA Turnaround

COTA is spinning its wheels, trying to find a home for a turnaround for its buses. They need to get out of Graceland Shopping Center because the space is growing. COTA explored two other locations for the turnaround, but neither worked.

COTA has new plan for bus turnaround on N. High

A long-simmering controversy over COTA’s search for a new spot to turn around some of its buses finally appears to be settled. Central Ohio Transit Authority trustees will vote this morning on plans to purchase four parcels of vacant land in Clintonville that will be used as a turnaround for buses traveling on N. High Street.
