They also have it at Cup O Joe on the cap. I thought it was cute!
Some of the layout was kinda janky, but that almost made me love it more.
Just kind of... garage zen.
I picked this up at North Market earlier this week. I liked it. The amateurish layout made me like it even more. Unlike the amateurish layout in something like the Alive.
Thanks for the feedback! The Slab aims to inform and entertain its readers through stories, photographs, columns, features, and product reviews.
Hopefully you will notice a hint of humor and wit in our writing. That is by design; as we take a lighthearted approach to connecting our readers to one another and to unique garages around the country. Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy.
I love it. Going to start renovating my garage just for a chance to appear. The Slab even stimulates the economy! How about a "garage tour" of Columbus - like many of the area home / garden / parade of homes events?
I subscribed to the magazine and no matter what car magazine I'm currently reading, The Slab takes precedence over it. I'm thoroughly impressed with the magazine. The quality of paper and writing really are top notch.
Hi All,
I have not posted on Columbus Underground in quite awhile, but I definitely wanted to chime in on this thread. The crew at the Garage Slab are just regular guys who have created a "regular guy" magazine, and I think it delivers big. Of course, I was published in the last edition, so my perception is slightly colored ;-) I know the crew puts a lot of effort into this publication, and even adds in an architectural perspective that brings another dimension to the stuff they are reporting on (after all, two of the editorial staff members are architects by trade). By the way, the above poster's idea of a "Parade of Garages" is a winner.
I wouldn't call it amatuerish, I'd just call it "contemporary American garage" style. Quite fitting if I do say so myself.
So I live in Delaware and have received 2 issues of the slab. The magazine is interesting to me in my thirties and my father in his sixties. Can't say there are many magazines that relate to both of us. Also, it's real. Compared to other magazines that you can read a majority of the information posted online. The slab is something you can hold onto and read.
The Garage Slab Rocks! This is coming from an old time Slabber . . .back when it was in black and white, hot off the office printer. I went into withdrawal when the Slab ceased for a short period of time. It was worth the wait. Glossy photos, more off the wall articles and that lovely twisted sense of humor seldom found in your typical day to day read. I could sit n drink beer with these guys. Until then, I’ll sit (in my garage) and drink beer while enjoying my Garage Slab. Thanks!
Fall issue is out!! Pick one up or subscribe! It's only $12.95 and make a perfect Christmas gift for the Garage lover in your life!

Nice! thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, this magazine is no longer going to be a printed edition. From their newsletter:
Although we hate to admit this, the future of our magazine has been directly affected by this nasty economy. Advertising dollars have dwindled and we can't personally carry the financial burden any longer. So.....we have made the decision, reluctantly, to become an online magazine instead of a printed magazine. For years we have enjoyed the touch, feel, and smell of The Garage Slab Magazine but I guess we must fall prey to this electronic age!
...
The future online magazine will be free for everyone. It will have the same exciting stories and content as our paper magazine plus many more options for your input and feedback. Since the five of us still maintain our regular jobs, this will afford us the ability to be more creative and provide more fun and excitement for our readers since we won't be burdened with printing costs!!
