U.S. District Court Judge John M. Roll, among others, are confirmed dead in this shooting. This is going to be a federal case.
Wait, now I'm hearing he isn't confirmed dead. It'll still go to federal court.

In March, U.S. District Judge John Roll rejected a motion by Mr. Barnett to have the charges dropped, ruling there was sufficient evidence to allow the matter to be presented to a jury. Mr. Barnett's attorney, David Hardy, had argued that illegal immigrants did not have the same rights as U.S. citizens.
Kinda wonder now who the target was. Or if it's "crazed nutjob who wanted to stop the lizard space aliens" or something, of course.

No matter who the original target might have been, the shooting of two federal officials would probably take the prosecution out of Arizona state law and directly to the office of Dennis K. Burke.

I think what he did is going to pretty much make him "loved" by everyone. You yourself already looked at his YouTube, right? Save the snarky digs about the press.

The press is gonna love this guy. Communist Menifesto and Mein Kampf.That doesn't strike me as a particularly unusual list of favorites, especially for a young man with a keen interest in politics. That he favors stories of individuals struggling against either an oppressive state or fantastic challenges is the thing I find most telling. He seems to have a soft spot for invented realities too.
Really, the only titles that are missing are "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" and "On The Road", and I expect those are probably on his "to read" list.
