Compost Bin and Rain Barrel Sales
Join us the weekend of May 5 and 6 for two compost bin and rain barrel sales. Earth Machine compost bins valued at $100 will be available for $45. SYSTERN rain barrels valued at $120 will be available for $55. A portion of the proceeds will benefit MORPC’s Materials Management and Greenways & Water Quality Working Groups.

The sales are taking place on Saturday, May 5, 10am-3pm at Scotts Miracle-Gro, Office Lot, 1411 Scottslawn Road, Marysville, Ohio and on Sunday, May 6, 10am-3pm at Sunny 95 Park, 4395 Carriage Hill Lane, Upper Arlington, Ohio.

With spring upon us and summer right around the corner, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company is hosting a one-day-only backyard compost bin and rain barrel distribution event at its World Headquarters at 14111 Scottslawn Road in Marysville on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. This green event will feature The Earth Machine Backyard Compost Bin, as well as the SYSTERN Rain Barrel. Both products will be available on a first come, first served basis. Earth Machine Backyard Compost Bins and SYSTERN Rain Barrels will be available for only $45 and $55, respectively tax already included, over 50 percent in savings from market price. In addition, accessories such as compost turners and kitchen scrap pails will be available for purchase.

Many young professionals are looking for ways to enhance and preserve the environment, and caring for lawns and gardens in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way plays an important role. Composting home organic waste and harvesting rain water are good practices for being environmental stewards and maintaining a quality landscape.

Scotts hosting a "green event?" That's a hoot. Would be like BP hosting a safety fair. Lawn care industry is about as un-green as it gets in this country! But I'll come take a look at the cheap compost bins, since I need one.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. We grabbed a rain barrel and compost bin kitchen bucket. Now I just need to find a downspout diverter for a decent price or specs on how to make one. Anyone have info on this?
