There's been a couple threads over the past six months talking about various bits and pieces of Comfest (cancellation rumors, police presence, grants, volunteer requests, etc), but I thought it would be good to start an actual thread about the event now that it's almost upon us.
So... who's going, what bands are you planning on seeing, and what else about the festival are you looking forward to this weekend?

I'm going and I wanna seeeeeeeee...Super Desserts, Bush League All Stars, Obviouslies, Moon High (would like to see more Friday bands but won't have the day off for the first time in 10 years or so), Main St. Gospel, Church of the Red Museum, Trains Across the Sea, Flu Faker, The Receiver, Nick Tolford, Joey Hebdo, Old Hundred, Spikedrivers, Bicentennial Bear, Paper Airplane, Mooncussers, Righteous Buck and the Skull Scorchers...
Gonna drink frozen drinks, eat fish boats, pass out in the grass, get a sunburn, get all sweaty, and take like 10 minutes to decide what color beer mug I want.

Married to the jazz stage Friday close and Sunday open. Married to the brewery Friday and Saturday. First time in memory that I've brewed on a Comfest Sat. Somebody's gotta make all that beer! Blood Orange Wheat is goin' fast, close to the jazz stage, too. Hopin' to get a beer and an app @ DeepWood after Friday's brew and before jazz stage. Maneri had tha Annadroid(s) last couple times. That is kinda fun... Wish I could see Main Street Gospel.

I hate to be all self-promotey, but here's my comfest schedule:
Friday: Playing offramp stage at 1:30 with Jenny Mae, Gazebo stage at 2:55 with Lydia Loveless, and Byrne's Pub from 7-9 with Big Red & Dale Vanderpool
Saturday: wandering around for the early afternoon, then playing Solar stage at 7 with Hayseed
Sunday: family reunion from 12-4, getting hammered in public for the rest of the day

I am a Comfest vendor also (Hey Amy D),
I would have to say I enjoy the people the most.
I am looking forward to catching up with those that I have met in previous years , hanging out with friends and meeting new people.
I enjoy visiting with the other artist, crafters and shop owners also.
And talking to the wonderful Comfest volunteers.
Hanging out with the family, swinging on the play set, checking out the funky art cars, doing crafts with the kids at the childrens craft shelter, people watching, face painting, strolling over to the North Market to get lunch (usually enjoying a few minutes of air conditioning before going back in the heat), listening to whoever is playing on the Bozo stage, drum circles and watching people dance.
My son usually brings a soccer ball to juggle, sometimes the kids do chalk drawings on the sidewalk and curbs, tossing frisbee,taking a break and strolling over to listen to music at the Gazebo or Jazz stage.
and much much more.

Jim has resurrected Flypaper for Comfest 2010.
Flypaper is a Techno/Jazz band that improvises House, Breakbeat and Trance music on the spot in costume.
So, Fishboat, Comfest "No Freezone beer", and Flypaper for sure on Friday night.

Sun - we'll see. Hopefully I can catch the Spikedrivers (early?!) and Ray Fuller. And another Fishboat. Lac Viet and Dragonfly are on my shortlist as well.

I'll be there! This year the Solar and the Live Arts stages will be powered by Solar Energy. And the workshops at Solar, Shelter House and the Healing Arts Tent should prove interesting. Check out the schedule here...

Lots of kids entertainment also at KidArt. Even Off Ramp has kids stuff programed. Park your car south of I670 or better yet, ride your bike to the bike corral and get free valet parking.

This will be my first Comfest, so it should be interesting! I'm doing a shift volunteering in the Slow Food/Snowville booth on Sunday, so before/after that it's anyone's guess.
Any advice for a first timer (and foodie)? I don't mind drunks, as long as they're mellow drunks and not obnoxious douches. Any acts on Sunday that I shouldn't miss? P. is dropping me off (since Comfest isn't his thing and it avoids the whole finding a place to park issue), where should I have him pick me up to avoid the worst of the crowds?
