This was my first one. I had a great time hanging out by the jazz stage. Then off to a great night at the bike corral. We were slammed for most of it but it was great seeing so many bikes.

Yeah, I was amazed to see all the bikes too. I took the bus in and out of Comfest and got curbside service.

That is a fish boat, my friend, obtained at Queen's Table!

I see some pics of Jim Maneri up there, he is such a great musician and good guy too.

Also good to know the beer stops at 10:30! I will strategize accordingly :)

It looked like there were still some open panels for painting at the Franklinton Art District tent, sort of-kind of located near that big bowl-like formation by Buttles Ave. I might be doing a lil' paint-flinging today. You should, too!

Watching Tim Easton busking with Megan Palmer on a street corner in the middle of Park Street with Comfest going on in the background was absolutely brilliant. I stumbled upon him performing, with guitar case sprawled out next to him, had no idea he was even in town this weekend. He's definitely not on the Comfest schedule. Amazing, amazing event we are fortunate to have in town.

Pictures of the fish boat are not treating me kindly this morning, but you should get one and don't forget the okra or an insane amount of hot sauce. Normally, I would give that a yuuuuummmmy, but this morning it gets a one-eye open thumbs up.

Damn that silver mug. I didn't see it when I went to buy mine. Lew got the gold, but gold just isn't my style. Then I saw someone with a silver one and get sad and perturbed. If anyone wants to bring me a pretty silver one tonight I'll be super super excited.

I'm pretty sure they had the beer hours at all the tents? I remember seeing at least one and thinking, DAMN! right when my shift ends.

About the only thing, looking back, I would really complain about was the Jazz stage being right in the middle of the overpass intersection. It would be nice if they could get all the stages in the shade/park. If I didn't have work most of the afternoon, I would be tempted to hang out there for a longer time-if it wasn't for the folding chairs, hard and hot asphalt and sun beating down.

Comfest day 1 was definitely a resounding success. Getting ready to head back up for more of the same. I think a fishboat might be in order this afternoon. I didn't get one yesterday, I opted instead for the corn dog. I do love the comfest corn dogs. And they're so easy to eat with one hand.

Nice sets from Grafton and Two Cow Garage last night. Bummed I missed Fernengel. Thought he was playing today, but found out around 6pm yesterday he was on the solar stage at 4pm Friday.

Can't wait for Envelope tonight! I think I'll wear another old ARA shirt and see if anyone remembers. Gonna hop back on the bus as soon as I can motivate myself to jump in the shower.
