The 2nd Annual COLUMBUS WINTER BEERFEST presented by CD101 returns on the weekend of January 13-14, 2012. Friday night, there is a special rare food & beer pairings party at the CD101 Big Room that we're calling "BIG ROOM, BIGGER BEERS!". Then on Saturday night, it's the GRAND TASTING...the full scale, knock your socks of Beerfest at the Columbus Convention Center. Over 120,000 square feet of Craft Beer awesomeness! 250+ American Craft Beers, 5000 Craft Beer Fans, One Great Time! All proceeds again benefit the Big Joe Duskin Music Foundation whose sole mission is to bring professional musicians into Columbus schools to get kids excited about playing musical instruments. Last year, through your support of the Columbus Beerfest, we were able to reach over 5600 schoolchildren in 14 Greater Columbus schools, and even more are planned for this school year. Head over to http://www.columbusbeerfest.com for all of the details and to purchase tickets. GET VIP TICKETS FOR THE PRICE OF REGULAR TICKETS (JUST $30!) UNTIL DECEMBER 25! We'll see you at the Beerfest! http://www.facebook.com/columbusbeerfest

Hardly pricey. The full Columbus Beerfest is SATURDAY NIGHT at the Convention center and is the same $30 per ticket bargain as last year. We couldn't get the Convention Center for 2 nights because it is so booked this year. So, we created the Rare Beer & food pairing event for the true craft beer connoisseur on Friday night. It will be held in the Big Room at CD101 and only 150 people can attend. It will feature an incredible beer list, the brewery representatives and food from several local independent chef driven restaurants. Most beer dinner type events of this caliber go for $75 to $100 per person. Very little profit is made on that night of the event. It was created to offer something different for those that appreciate those type of beer events.

I don't think anyone's ever left Beerfest thirsty.

Would you be able to provide a few examples of the kind of stuff you expect to have available during the rare beer tasting?

Has anyone tried to go to the columbusbeerfest.com website? I can't seem to get it to work.

I had the worst hangover of my life from this event last year, I don't know if I can stomach it this year.

Tickets are selling like iced cold pints of beer on a hot summer day for the SATURDAY, JANUARY 14 COLUMBUS WINTER BEERFEST at the Greater Columbus Convention Center! We are nearing 1,000 craft beer loving souls that have bought their ticket, AND THEY ALL GOT VIP TICKETS FOR THE PRICE OF REGULAR UNTIL 12/25 AND YOU CAN TOO!. That's up over 200% versus this point last year, BUT unfortunately there has been insufficient demand (just 13 tickets sold) for the Friday night Rare Beer event that was to be held at CD101 so we are canceling that new event and have refunded their purchases. We hope to make such an event a part of future festivals. http://www.columbusbeerfest.com

Now that I'm registered and have a password it was pretty painless this time.

Bump! Coming up this weekend!

I am attending my first Beerfest this weekend and I am jacked. But I am curious, I am assuming that some samples will cost 2 or 3 tickets because 25 samples at 5-8oz could get pretty sloppy but I would gladly accept the challenge! Can anyone share their experience from previous visits?

From my experience, most of the people that pours the samples are volunteers. They didn't know too much about the beers they were pouring.
Most volunteers didn't even bother to take the tickets last time. I ended up using only about 8 tickets. If you are worried about running out of tickets, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I agree. If you used all the tickets you'd be in the hospital for alcohol poisoning. LOL

STRANGE QUESTION:
Does anybody know if they will have a coat check? I can't find any direct contact information for the event holders, so I thought this might be a good avenue.
