As a person who has visited almost every large metro area in the U.S, and has lived in the SF Bay Area, what does Columbus have/offer that other cities in the U.S can't offer/don't have?

Now this is kind of a fully loaded question. For example, the first thing that comes to mind is the Buckeyes. Well of course no one else has the buckeyes, yet other large cities have College Football teams that have dominated their conference X number of years..so on so on...

I'm looking for unique things about Columbus that no one else has and that would attract tourist from cities such as NYC, SF, Chicago, etc....Like the giant concrete corn cobs in Dublin.

The one thing I've noticed is the cost of living seems a lot more reasonable than some of the bigger metro areas, like Chicago.

When I visit other cities, it's usually to take in their "local" scene. Explore what they have to offer in terms of local art, local music, local restaurants, local bars, local nightlife, local neighborhoods, etc.

In that respect, every city in the country has something unique to offer. I'd look less for the big landmarks and look more and the "everyday unique" when it comes to showing off what we have to offer.

I'm don't think lots of people would travel here from other big cities for giant corncobs or the santa maria. Columbus doesn't have great landmarks like the golden gate bridge or statue of liberty.

but we do have Hell city tattoo fest, it's only in 2 cities, Columbus and Pheonix. You might look for unique stuff like that. Arnold Expo is another.

costals have a naval ship

A family friendly Arena District.

Most cities have that. Usually based around a park or a waterfront

Wexner Center.

You are posing the question poorly in ways designed to fail. Whatever category you might consider, one can argue that it is merely a specific example of a type and not unique. Opera? The Met is just another opera. Restaurants? Alinea (in Chicago) is just another restaurant. Golden Gate is just another bridge. It is the specifics that make something desirable.

You take visitor to a chain store mall?
well, ok, I guess it's representative of Columbus

Perhaps the question should be phrased more along the lines of;
What makes Columbus Unique. That you can show to visitors.

While all cities have a zoo, many with unique features (Chicago's zoo is free and along the lake for example). You could say; 'Columbus' award winning zoo with Jack Hana'
