When others say they're bad at golf, I interpret that to mean you lack in talent or skill. When I say I'm bad at golf, I mean that I go about it in a way that is so amateur and ill practiced that it would most likely annoy even the suckiest player.
Well, the neat thing about the "scramble" approach is that say, 4 golfers on a team hit their shots. The best shot is selected & then the next 4 shots are made from that point on (hopefully) the fairway, and continuing on with that approach until the hole is finished. This allows a round to be played with quite a few people in a pretty short amount of time, with minimal humiliation for those that truly suck. So even if you blow chunks, no one is angrily waiting around for you to wrap up your 18 over par on hole 3…it'll be done in way less time than that. You just may never get the honor of having the best shot, which probably won't be a blow to your ego. Just be sure & carry a few sleeves of extra balls with you!
