COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A local police officer was put under investigation Monday after videos of her making anti-Semitic remarks were found online.
Authorities said Susan Purtee, a Columbus police officer, and her sister were heard on YouTube.com blaming the Jewish population for problems in the United States, NBC 4's Lauren Diedrich reported.
Officials said the sisters used YouTube's video posting abilities to create a video entitled the Subiesisters. These videos discussed the sister's views on the Jewish population.
"What we're going to talk about is very controversial," the video stated. "It's the Jews, it's the Jews. They're a problem."
The duo described themselves as two sisters who were raised in the Midwest. Their profile said they were mad about issues that Americans faced in the last 40 years.
"(Jews) have been problems in other countries," the sisters said. "So if your feelings will get hurt don't watch. Thank God for freedom of speech."
Fraternal Order of Police president Jim Gilbert said Columbus police might not become involved since Purtee did not identify herself as a police officer.
Columbus Division of Police representatives said their legal department would review the tapes to determine if an investigation should begin.
Officials said Purtee would stay on the payroll until the investigation was completed.
