There was a post on here recently listing all of the Columbus bloggers - which got me wondering if there are any podcasts produced by Columbus natives.
Anyone know of any - or produce any themselves?

If you launch iTunes, head into the store, do a search for "columbus" and narrow the results to podcasts, you can find a few... although they mostly seem to be sports related.
I've toyed with the idea of switching from audio to video podcasts, although the extra production time & effort are keeping that idea on the backburner. I'd love to see more people providing rich-media content on a hyperlocal level. But it can be time consuming to put out a product week after week, so I understand why it can seem a bit daunting too.
I blog occasionally, but I've actually been building up some content lately, which I'm turning into audio/ video podcasts.
Walker, this will be of interest to you.
When someone wants to discuss a tech or entrepreneurial issue with me that I feel can benefit others, I've been having a video conversation (split screen, Oprah call in talking head style) over Skype and using Skype Video Recorder to record the discussion. You can then strip out the audio and turn that into an audio podcast.
The quality is surprisingly solid.
I'll be posting the video/ audio on my blog - GraphicConversation.com shortly when I get the syndication part down. I've also been talking to a transcription service who can transcribe the content as well.
A twenty minute conversation can be very quickly turned into content that helps others and you get three for one.
There's also something out there called CinchCast (webservice + iPhone App or a simple phone call) that makes it dead simple to do audio podcasts.
Anyone know of any other people in Columbus who are podcasting?
If I can find a free podcasting service, I'll be a Columbus podcaster, because I want to branch out, and podcasts are pretty easy to assemble (until you add pictures with them- a la newspapers).
I have been podcasting for over 5 years at http://www.zillafag.com and another Columbus gay podcaster is AShantyNoLemon at http://ashantynolemon.com/wordpress/index.php
Anyone can podcast for FREE by getting a free blog at http://wordpress.org/ and post original copyright free only media at http://www.archive.org/
Of course you do need a computer and internet
Patradio does some local music/interview podcasting with WCRS.
And then there's these, which i've plugged before. If you're into video stuff:
Columbus Foodcast was awesome. Everyone involved are still doing great and interesting things. But I do miss it!
wait, is the foodcast defunct? i keep it subscribed in my podcasting app, but sadly get nothing week after week...
For a great non-local foodcast, check out Good Food from KCRW in LA. It'll make you jealous of SoCal's local produce and restaurants, but most of the feature stories are relevant no matter where you live.
The last update I've heard on the Foodcast was that there would still be new updates from time to time. Special events and such.
I shouldn't have implied that it was dead. I just miss the frequency they used to crank it out.
Opps, missed this thread. While Columbus Foodcast is not dead, it is on the extreme back burner (and on a very low flame). We loved doing the podcasts but did not have much response to them. TheOtherZach was working, going to school and bought a new house towards the end or our regular podcasting season. Bethia and I now have 8 blogs and 2 1/2 new businesses we have started between us so the time to make a podcast that was worth your time disappeared. We will still do occasional podcasts and if I can find some extra time (I am going on 5 -6 hours of sleep most days) and bully TheOtherZach more effectively we can get back to at least a quarterly schedule. Bethia(Hungry Woolf), Taco Drew, myself and some others have a radio project on the back burner as well so if that does not work out, we can devote some time back to podcasting. I think a couple of our episodes were really good and the outtakes at the end of most were worth it. We also had a good run at using local music for our interludes, which I think is important. Eat Local, Drink Local, Listen Local.
So all that being said, if you have food topics you want in podcast form, post here and we will put them on the list. Maybe we can do an end of 2010 special, best of, Top Ten or something.
Oh, and Pizza Grand Prix VI is coming up. Details soon on CU. Maybe we can podcast that.
best of 2010 sounds great - new restaurants, best events of the year, best food road trips, best food festivals, best local CSA/meat/cheese etc.
i know you guys are spread thin and I read most of your stuff anyway, I just like having something to listen to in the car. but i'll keep my subscription active, just in case
