Interesting, its actually a Forbes article and its Delaware County, not Columbus...but they did stick a photo of Goodale Park in under the Delaware County listing...

and we're (as in Delaware County) are actually 2nd best. Bend Country in Texas is first.
and gotta love the opening sentence:
"Professional success often requires some degree of sacrifice. Surprisingly, one of those sacrifices might include moving to the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio."Great. It's a sacrifice to live here.
Sweet article. Thanks.
I'm still holding out for second best "place to cut your losses" next to Gulag, North Dakota.

this isn't as sweet as it sounds.
15-20 years ago,it was Gwinnett county,Georgia that was #1 in this category.
when i first moved there in '82,i could walk the dogs, and see deer 20 feet away.
then the bulldozers came in '83.now you can't even breathe in that county without bumping into somebody.
they are packed like sardines down there.
i don't think Delaware county or the city of Delaware wants to be #1 that badly.

well they based the decision on 2 factors, income growth and job growth. a 2% job growth in delaware county was probably a new warehouse opening up.
the change in income is probably just urban sprawl. it's more "the place to move to in order to get away from minorities after you get ahead in your job and don't mind spending $120/week in gas to drive to your columbus employer" instead of a "place to get ahead at."
but like the above comment about gwinnett county, at one point in the 80's or maybe really early 90's, hilliard was one of the fastest growing cities in the country. it resulted in subdivisions and ugly buildings being built wherever the developers wanted.
