Do you still need volunteers? How about someone to spin reggae between sets (I know I'm beating a lot of dead horses with trying to push reggae to different people). Either way, would love to volunteer, but early as Yellowman is coming the same day. Would be cool to get in touch with Carl from Roots to have him bring Yellowman by for an impromptu set...very cool indeed.

Oh, yeah, I have a shameless crush on Lew's online presence. Ever since the cute dress avatar...smitten. And now the PBR can...oh yeah! (not in a creepy, online stalker sort of way, of course, but does me denying the creepiness make it even creepier? hmmm)

ok, as in previous years, we're gonna spotlight all of our bands so you can get to know them (if you don't already!)
kicking off the day on at 3 p.m. sharp:
APOCALYPSO!

(confession: i used to not be a fan of steel drums. then i went to a sweet dance party with apocalypso at carabar and i was converted!)
from their myspace:
The band was born out of a friend's wedding in 2001. The three of us were all fans of the Caribbean beat and in combination with our irrepressible urges to play Black Sabbath, we formed this band. We also shared the condition of having reoccurring morbid thoughts of the apocalypse. We hope you don't take this the wrong way, and we also hope you'll decide to get off your ass and come dance the Soca with us.
Check them out here:

I like reggae though.
Know what else I like?
Parking lots.
and BlowoutsThe reggae will be on the patio, so you only have to actually be INSIDE BOMA for a minute before you step out onto the patio and enjoy a full bar, bbq, and great reggae.

Parking Lot Blowout Band Spotlight # 2 is
DEERHEAD!
Deerhead will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. We love their classic/southern rock vibe! I wanted to hype them today because they are playing a show at The Shelf tonight (after Red White and Boom!)

You can check out their music and find more info about them here:

have we mentioned that for the first time ever, we will have souvenir mugs that you can drink your delicious PBR out of? They come in 4 colors with the CMC and Surly Girl Saloon logos and say "here comes your weekend!"
also, quick volunteer update:
we are getting close to be booked with volunteers for the event which is awesome! but...we still really, really need people from 8 p.m.-close, especially at our food tent. interested? email columbusmusiccoop@gmail.com
have a happy fourth of july columbus underground!
