Please save the date for the 4th annual Here Comes Your Weekend Parking Lot Blowout, July 11th, 2009, in the Surly Girl Saloon Parking Lot. As always, the event will be free with music, drinks and fun, with all alcohol sales benefiting the Columbus Music Co-op's Columbus Musicians' Assistance Program!

OMG, I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I'm going to come back early and drive all night Friday night so I don't miss it. You'll have to greet me at the gate with 2 tall boy Red Bulls, but I'll be there. Woot!!

this event is 100% volunteer run! we need people to pour beer and drinks, check ids, act as security, grill hot dogs and lots o' other stuff. this year we are going to have 2 hour shifts for the first time ever too!
and every volunteer receives a thank you goodie bag from the columbus music co-op with free drink tickets, gift certificates and other fun stuff!
last year's parking lot blowout has already funded over $7,000 in grants to musicians without health insurance!! hoping to double that number this year!

VOLUNTEER INFO!
For the first time ever we are going to have 2 and 4 hour shifts (instead of just 4 hour shifts!)
Here are the shift times (with set up and tear down being a little different)
9 a.m.-12 p.m. SET UP
12-2 p.m.
2-4 p.m.
4-6 p.m.
6-8 p.m.
8-10 p.m.
10 p.m.-12 a.m.
11 p.m.-2 a.m. TEAR DOWN (we have finished around 12:30 a.m. the last two years)
We have the following areas available:
Front gate
Bar (you must be 21 or over to work our bar)
Food
CMC Info Tent
Security
Floaters
Volunteers will receive food and drink tickets and goodie bags with thank you gifts from the CMC and our event sponsors. You can sign up for a 2 or 4 hour slot.
If you would like to volunteer please email:
columbusmusiccoop@gmail.com with the following information:
full name
email and cell phone contact information
which times and areas you are interested in.
(if you feel very strongly about working in a specific slot, email early, as we fill up early!)
We are finalizing the band set times and such and we hope to announce this week (if you are waiting on band times to decide when you volunteer)
And-if you have already emailed the CMC I will be sending out emails confirming your shift and time later this week so no need to re-email!
This event is 100% volunteer run and we couldn't do it without you! If you have any questions, please do hesitate to send me a pm here or the CMC email.
