I picked up a copy of Crave Magazine today which looks to be a new addition to the columbus dining & food scene. It appears to be similar to what Edible Columbus is doing. Has anyone else seen this magazine? Thought?

What a great new edition to the "scene" just hope they give the happening new Olde Towne East restuarants and eateries good coverages and take the time to check out a great new neighborhood and the Oak Street business corridor! Lots of good changes the last 2 years in Olde Towne in terms of business and retail! A very bustling and vibrant environment is now on Oak and S 18th Street!
Lets be sure we support this new entreprenurial publication, the editors and owners - nice to have them here in the fab SN as well!!

I just got a copy @ Fito’s (YUMMY & so nice!). G.A. Benton told me about Crave @ his/their Super Bowl Party. Jodi Miller & Will Shilling can photograph food about as well as anybody, IMO. Crave is more about dining/drinking out, whereas Edible spends more time on cooking/ingredients. It seems that the Dispatch is making an effort to stay relevant. Nicely done, I’d say.

Seemed like a giant advertisement interspersed with more advertisements.
Talking about KingLincolnUrbanEnthusiast's posts & Crave (I also got a copy from Fito's).

the magazine definitely has a "CMag" quality to it, a collection of ads and superficial content. To me, this seems like the kind of stuff I'd already see in The Alive so I don't quite understand the point of this magazine.

I admit, I was a bit taken aback by all of the ads in front (seemingly 20 pages worth before you got to any of the content), but otherwise I'm fairly happy with it. Layout's nice, photos are great, writing's fine... as far as I'm concerned, the only people who should have a problem with it are those who compete for food-related advertisements.

FREE publication= lots of advertisements

Fun game!
Count the use of papyrus in all the different ads.
(not a knock on the magazine, I'm sure they didn't do that design work.)

Yep, 0Angle is right. We are concentrating specifically on the restaurant scene in Columbus, and dining out as a form of entertainment. Keep the feedback coming!

WARNING: Dispatch publication
In case you didnt catch that from the mag or the website. I have my own opinions about dispatch and picked up a copy of Crave before realizing this. We'll see how this works out...

For a full color free magazine on dining out I was pretty happy with the quality. I guess I was expecting less and was happy to find content beyond my initial expectations. It seemed fairly hip and relevant. I was also surpised at the breadth of advertisers. I would assume it costs a bit of money (maybe not??) to place a color ad in print like this. I think they must have done their homework. It seems that they canvassed more of the whole Columbus dining spectrum instead of the typical niche scenes. Overall, I think it is a good start and a nice addition to the dining community. I will keep my eye out for the next edition.

I picked up a copy about a month ago and thought was very nice.

I think the content and photography of Crave are pretty decent, especially considering it's a free magazine. Shelly and her team have done a fine job taking the food section of Alive to create a new publication. I've really enjoyed the first issue and looking forward to the next.
