Three points:
A) I was recently watching the Improv Evverywhere "Little League" video --where they come in and turn a Little League game into a major league atmosphere.
B) Every month or so I post an event here on the boards --no one ever attends. Vice versa, I regularly see cool events listed here and rarely if ever make it to them.
C) I was at the Columbus International Film Festival this past weekend, and I was shocked to find out it had been running almost twice as long as I've been alive and I've never heard of it before this year.
THEREFORE: Here's my idea: Each month, let's all get together and choose one under-the-radar urban Columbus event and make it THE biggest event in Columbus for that month. We've got marketing experts, social networkers, graphic designers and so forth on this site, and we all have our own networks of contacts and friends. Each month we pick that one event, and give it the publicity, the marketing, the word of mouth and the attendance it deserves.
Also in someways it would be like the microbank collectives they have in third world countries. Everyone participates, and then when your turn comes you reap the big payoff.
