Put the model train that was in the Huntington Building in the Commons.
Maybe a little ferris wheel too ;)

Pic of the full site layout. I actually think the entrance from Rich is going to look great when the new apartments are done.

Ugh, these rendering aren't so good:
Dear. God.
YIKES, that's awful! The architect(s) needs to go back to school, or at least the drawing board. What the hell are those windows? Who the hell designed this thing? That cornice looks like it belongs on an aircraft, not a building. They couldn't even change up the brick color on the other building? How the hell did this thing get approved?
Is there a zoning code that says balcony's can't face High Street? I could see that being a reason the balcony's were removed and replaced with bay windows. I also believe this rendering is better than the previous one in this thread but not as good as the original.
I really don't understand why the windows are so small as compared to the original design. The whole point of living here would be to enjoy the views.
Gives me a "superblock" feeling. Just a tad more detail would have been nice as well....a more decorative cornice, stone ground the roof corners, etc. The little details make the biggest difference.
These are hideous.
This could be a gem. It's not.
Yes, we need/want this development and these new residents downtown. But the generic design does not contribute to the other benefits this development will bring.
@jpizzow .... I agree. I'm ok with the new design, as it is far better than the previous rendering, but a couple visual upgrades would def. help.
Ouch. Not to be a downer, but this is not a good design for a building along a park in a downtown area. Yeah, it just looks too uniform...there just isn't a lot of variety in the building. But, buildings usually look better once they are built and viewed in person, so hopefully it won't look as bad as the rendering. It will likely just sit there and no one will notice it...which is fine, not every building has to make a statement I suppose.
It looks a little like this...

It looks like a retirement community.
ETA: Walker, you beat me to the post!
This is hideous but I'm trying to understand why in the 3rd picture there is only one spot for a car to park?
Yeah, it looks like something that belongs in the burbs. Not impressed.

A seven story building with street-level retail connected to an underground parking garage belongs in the suburbs?
Say what you will about the design, but the function is perfectly fine for urban development.

Agreed. I was referring to the architecture.
At least they included one archway....
This looks like something that would've been built in a communist country. Utilitarian all the way.
