I am saddened by the social maturation of the Columbus Clippers. They do not play "Columbus Clippers Ring Your Bell" song anymore at Huntington Park. While the new park is nice, its nice to bring some of the nostalgia along with the team. I was sitting in the boxes, located near the announcers booth, and asked a few of the ushers, security if they play the song anymore. They said "almost never". A tradition lost :(

Having grown up in a different city, I never really understood the whole cowbell thing. I totally understand tradition and wanting to keep those alive. To me, ringing the bells during the song was never the problem. The problem was the incessant ringing of them throughout the game, no matter what seemed to be happening on the field. For me at least, it detracted rather than added to the experience of the game. I dont want or mean for that to be rude, its just the truth. Traditions are great, they are a huge part of any sport, but this is one that I'm ok with letting go.
