
Columbus council rethinks residential recycling

City Council President Andrew J. Ginther is having second thoughts about a curbside recycling service that Mayor Michael B. Coleman has been promising for nearly two years.
Starting a program might not be prudent, Ginther said last week, with state budget cuts looming and a tight economy that shows no sign of releasing its grip.
“If this is the new normal,” he said, “we need to be very careful to not start something we cannot sustain.”
