Are there really only 10 Columbus artists there this year?
I mean.... I've been really supporting the GCAC verbally... but its times like this where I get defensive on behalf of Columbus artists. It is really sad.
Still... I hope everyone goes.
For those artists looking to get involved in something.... http://www.agoracolumbus.com
Just go to the left side of the page and click 'do'. You register, then you are in an art show. Try it. It's easy.
Man, was it HOT last year. Hopefully the intense heat and humidity will be tempered this year . A few shots were in my phone from last year.

The 2010 Cuisine Connection local restaurants include: Lavash Café; City Barbeque; Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams; Old Bag of Nails Pub; Schmidt’s; Claddaugh Irish Pub, Berwick Manor; Griswold Grill and Pattycake Vegan Bakery.
that sounds like a neat addition.
We used to volunteer for CAF every year, we had fun and it made our organization a small bit to offset expenses.. Last year they shut us out, this year they couldn't be bothered to return phone calls, once we actually got a phone number for the volunteer dept by calling the former volunteer coordinator.
it WAS hot there last year, i had forgotten...we didnt hang around too long. looking forward to it this year!
Ran over to CSCC today to see if they would buy back my one text book. Enjoyed the music that was drifting over from the main stage. If I have time tomorrow or Sunday, I may see about heading back for a longer time and enjoy more.
I'll be there Sunday with the fam. Hope to run into some of you guys!
This was one of my favorites. Beautiful vases!

All for the arts festival, but was a little bitchy today about CSCC renting out our already overcrowded parking lots for the event - it made parking today a nightmare if you showed up at the wrong time.
Tomorrow and Sunday? Probably won't be an issue. Today? It definitely was.
Having said that, hoping to take a break from studying this weekend to check it out. Since I have a CSCC parking sticker, it'll make it a lot easier.
This is why I love Columbus in June. Not only is my birthday in June (the 14th), but three of the best festivals in the City (Gallery Hop, The Arts Fest, and dare I say it, Comfest)....
The Arts Festival is Awesome, one of the best places to see lots of great art, and great scenery. I'd post pix here, but I don't believe in getting a Flicker account.
Some photos from Friday evening:

Stopped by earlier today. I was doubtful due to the forecast, but lucked out. There was some really interesting booths this year, and I loved the stall that hand handbags made from books and album covers! Pro and con due to threat of rain...less crowds, so I'm sure the artist aren't making as many sales as hoped for...but as a festival goer I was happy not to have to fight through the crowds.
Here is my post on it.
