Owners, Randy Haffey and Ryan Hartley as well as local sponsors are joining forces with representatives of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Centerâ€â€Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James) and The Joan Levy Bisesi Foundation for Head and Neck Oncology Research (Joan’s Fund), benefiting the OSUCCC-James.
The event doors open at 8:00pm on March 26 at The Bluestone (formerly BoMa) located at 583 East Broad Street, downtown. The evening’s events will feature the following: local artists’ works, live enter-tainment with DJ’s, a semi-formal masquerade social, silent auction, performance by the world’s fastest speed painter, a fashion show titled “Masked Divasâ€Â, an art exhibit by the Courage Unmasked for Joan Levy Bisesi Foundation for Head and Neck Oncology Research Campaign artists, a creative mask competition, and an 80’s and 90’s themed dance party. Jimmy Jam from WNCI will be sharing the stage with Monica Day of NBC and Dimitrious Stanley, former OSU and Miami Dolphins football player.
The Columbus Arts Ball organizers will exhibit art works from The Courage Unmasked for Joan Levy Bisesi Foundation for Head and Neck Oncology Research Campaign collection. This philanthropic foundation raises awareness about head and neck cancer, while supporting head and neck oncology research at the OSUCCC-James. The art pieces are artistic transformations of masks worn by former patients during radiation treatments.
Pre-sale tickets will be available in February for $22.00 per person online (www.ColumbusArtsBall.com) or $30.00 at the door. The website and Facebook entry also provides mask ideas and a lineup of entertainment, prizes and special guests for the event.
