It's Friday, and the grey weather has me in the mood for a well crafted cocktail this evening.
I moved here from Chicago, where places like Violet Hour, The Whistler, and Weegee's all served up both classic and innovative cocktails with fresh ingredients. Barrel 44 is nice for whiskey and bourbon based libations, and the drinks at Tip Top are fun, but I'm looking for a classic sidecar, gimlet, or sazerac.
Help a gal out CU folks. Where can I get a really great cocktail?

The sazerac is probably my favorite drink and I don't know of anywhere in Cbus that makes them. The high end cocktail bar is certainly a niche that is missing here. I think your going to have to go to restaurants instead and I'd second what Jon Meyers said about Sage. I'm with you though; if only I could find a good sazerac and a good aviation on a cocktail menu...

Deepwood has a good happy hour if you can make it before 7pm - both food and drinks. I can't see the cocktail list on line anywhere but here is the happy hour wine/beer/food list

What is a sazerac? I've never heard of this and am mightily intrigued.
Moz, a couple of us are tentatively discussing meeting up at Sage for a martini (although I'm more of a Manhattan gal). It's next week, but perhaps you could hop over to that discussion and join us then?

2 oz. Rye Whiskey (Old Overholt or Sazerac Rye is preferred)
½ oz. Simple Syrup
5 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
2 dash Angostura Bitters
¼ oz. Herbsaint (Pernod can be used as a substitute)
1 Lemon twist
