CRC Run for the Roses 5K Information
Monday May 30, 2011. Registration Starts at 7:30 am and the Race Starts at 9:00 am.
Come help people in need at this charity event and run or walk 3.1 miles through beautiful Whetstone Park or Roses. This Memorial Day morning also includes a kids fun run race for those future marathoners, so bring your cameras and picnic baskets and make a day of it. There will be food, beverages and awards after the race. Proceeds benefit the Clintonville Beechwold Community Resource Center
About the course
The 5k race will begin and end at Whetstone High School. The course will make 2 loops through Whetstone’s oak trees, meadows and flowers! Then finish up on the Whetstone track.
Kids Run
We will have a 100 and 400 meter dash beginning at 8:30am. Age groups are 6 and under and 7-10. All kid racers will receive a race ribbon. No entry fee required, but all donations accepted.
Awards
First 50 men and first 50 women will receive a special gift to recognize your accomplishment. Top 3 men and top 3 women will receive an award

ABOUT CLINTONVILLE/BEECHWOLD COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER: CRC, a United Way Member Agency, distributes over two tons of food and toiletries each week to economically stressed individuals and families through the Choice Food Pantryâ€â€that’s over 6,000 meals per month. Other services include emergency material assistance (clothing, housing, healthcare). CRC’s Kids Club, a no-cost after-school and summer care program for elementary and middle school youth, is host to a daily average of 50 children Monday through Friday during the school year and the summer months. Reading Specialist provides special interventions for students in need of extra help. All CRC Senior Supportive Services are designed to maintain seniors safely and independently in their own homes, to guard against displacement, and to protect the elderly from social isolation. Kinship Care helps those families who are raising their relative’s children. The CRC Green Bike Project loans bikes for free and the Community Gardens help provide free produce through our Food Pantry.
