Hello Clintonville Residents and friends
I forward an e-mail last week from the Clintonville Chamber of Commerce and Columbus Police Dept. about the crime ring in our area. As far south as Kelso as far north as Morse between High St and Indianola. The description two black males in their 20's and a short heavy Asian dark colored woman.
One of the suspects was spotted on Amazon and claimed to be waiting for his buddy to play basketball but there are not courts there or at Whetstone anymore. The neighbors just did not feel right so they called the police. The boy told the police he was deaf. the neighbors said no he was talking on cell phone and had I Pod on. By the time the police went to find the boy he was gone. These same neighbors saw the same boy the next day with another black make and short Asian darker skinned woman. The boy from the day before would not make eye contact with the neighbors.Police were called again.
They have been spotted on Dunedin, Crestview, Kelso, Northridge, Lakeview, Amazon, Garden, Wesiheimer just to name a few.
Today as Chris was cleaning our garage he saw them come up our alley. They were most definitely casing the houses until they saw Chris then they sped off. We called the police they have three cruisers in the area looking for them and they said they also have plain clothed officers in Clintonville.
However the vehicles given in the e-mail sent last week may not be the vehicle they are using now they are switching cars and using different license plates. Chris was suspicious when the license plate was in the window but the car did match the description in the e-mail last week.
The police officer said they do have good prints of these thieves they just need to catch them. They also said they are very bold. That neighbors have seen them robbing their neighbors house and yelled out to them and they continue to keep loading up their vehicle.
I copied the e-mail and sent to my neighbors that I know are home during the day to help keep a look out.
ADDED INFO: A candy-apple red, metallic, 2006 - 2008 GMC Tahoe with chrome rims and custom plastic tail lights was reported to CPD as suspicious on 4/19. There were 3 black males parked in the alley at Milton and Delhi. The GMC SUV was observed driving around the neighborhood for 2 hours, cruising all the streets and alleys. The report says that the vehicle was later seen at Milton and Como with only the driver. He left the area and was followed by an observant neighbor all the way up 71 north as he exited on 161 East. The vehicle and drivers description as well as the LIC plate was reported to CPD for the record. We speculate that the driver dropped off two suspects to burglarize our neighborhood properties.
They must be stopped! Please be observant. If your residence was burglarized Monday, April 19th between 2:30 and 4:30. Call CPD. They have the suspected suspects vehicle info.
