FYI for Clintonville area residents south of East North Broadway. This is from http://groups.google.com/group/walhalla-ravine?hl=en
Info on recent home burglaries in the area:
A new burglary trend has be detected from south Clintonville (roughly Crestview/Kelso to the south), all the way up to Morse Rd to the north. High St to the west and Indianola to the east. There was one burglary east of Indianola on Crestview, but all the others suspected to be part of this pattern have been between High and Indianola, with the bulk of them being south of EN Broadway up to roughy Crestview/Kelso to the south.
Suspects have been developed and it would be good for concerned residents to keep a watchful eye out for the follow people/vehicles:
3 male blacks, late teens to early 20s. One of these guys I know to be tall (around 6'0") with a thin build (approx 180lbs). He may have braids to his shoulders, though that is not for sure and easily changed, so don't go solely on that description. He is in his early 20s.
Another male black in that crew also has been described by witnesses as having a lot of tattoos on his arms.
1 female light skinned black in early 20s (she is actually a hispanic/asian mix, but most people have described her as a light skinned black). She is heavyset and short and may have long dark hair she pulls up into a ponytail.
Primary vehicle used in the burglaries has been a 1995 maroon Ford Explorer (is in surprisingly good shape for age of the car), with tan trim on lower part of car. The tag on the vehicle is ESD7836. It is the newer Ohio plate with the yellow sun and blue skies on the plate. Another possible car they are using (though unlikely) is a dark green Toyota 4 Runner, first three on plate is EVN. Though the Explorer is far more likely to be the vehicle used.
These suspects are breaking into homes during daylight hours when most people are at work. All of the burglaries have occurred between 8:30am and 5pm. Witnesses to an attempt burglary by these suspects said the suspects knocked on the front door first to see if anyone was home. If they don't get an answer, they then go around back and break out or force a rear window to make entry. If they are confronted by a home owner when they knock, they ask "Is (insert make believe person's name here) at home?" If you or your neighbors have this experience, they should call police to report a suspicious person(s) in the area.
When these suspects break in, they are pulling the vehicle into the driveway and loading up all the victim's property they can get. They are taking mulitple flatscreen TVs, computer equipment (especially laptops), iPods, jewelry, cameras, tools, etc. They don't just take one or two things, they take a lot of property.
Important note to anyone who does fall victim: If a resident comes home and discovers a burglary where entry was made through a forced or broken out window, please do NOT clean this area up. Make sure the officer who responds either dusts that area for fingerprints or requests an evidence tech come to the scene to take of getting fingerprints. These suspects are NOT wearing gloves and I have recovered at least one of their prints at several of the scenes (which is why I can give you descriptions and vehicle info). Charges are forthcoming and hopefully they will be under arrest soon. In the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open and call if anything seems suspicious in your area!
