Cleveland Metroparks received the largest individual donation in its 93 year history - $1.7 million. Since 2001 the Emerald Necklace Endowment Fund has been established for the parks in Cleveland, with assets of $4.8 million. Given the propensity to slash funding for Columbus' Recreation and Parks during difficult budget times, has anyone considered establishing a similar endowment for the parks and recreation facilities here in Columbus?
