Cleveland left holding hundreds of bike grips after Gateway art project dies

The Bike station on East Fourth Street is on the ground floor of a Gateway garage now owned by Rock Ohio Caesars Cleveland, LLC. Developers of the nearby casino don't want the risk that comes with some yahoo using the eye-catching handles to climb the side of the garage.

Downtown revitalizations are notorious for cookie-cutter and copycat approaches. You want to be like Miami? Build a waterfront club. Vegas? A casino of course. Indianapolis you say? Well, you better get a world-class convention center.

Here in Cleveland we are in the process of building all this and more. In fact we may just become the collective of everyplace that our diaspora brethren have left us for.

Cleveland casino operator to buy Ritz-Carlton hotel

(AP) — There were no slot machines in sight, but the leadership of Ohio’s first casino in Cleveland offered good odds Tuesday that it will meet its deadline to open by late March. “We’ve been working very hard in trying to get caught up to speed and get this casino to be the first casino open in the state of Ohio,” said Nate Forbes, who is directing casino design and architecture for Rock Gaming, partners with Caesars Entertainment.

Part Of Parking Deck Collapses At Ohio Casino Site

CLEVELAND -- Authorities say part of the roof of the parking garage for the new Cleveland casino collapsed on Friday afternoon. Cleveland Fire Department spokesman Larry Gray says the collapse occurred while workers were pouring concrete on the roof. He says all 52 construction workers have been accounted for.

i feel Cleve casino out of all 4 will do the best.

the Toledo and Columbus Casinos worry me the most.

Cinci/Argosy/Columbus are way too close,as is Toledo/Detroit/Windsor.

i don't see the Toledo or Columbus metro population enough to sustain these casinos,once the novelty wears off.

RTA tapping business community for expanded trolley lines in downtown Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- RTA wants businesses to help pay for free bus service, so an expected influx of visitors can move more easily among downtown's new and old destinations. The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is working with downtown businesses to raise $720,000, for routes serving the soon-to-open Cleveland Horseshoe Casino and the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The money is needed to match the $2.88 million in federal cash that RTA has secured to operate the trolley-like buses on nights and weekends the next three years.

Ohio's First Casino Bets On Big First-Day Crowds

After five statewide votes over 20 years, Ohio is getting its first casino.
