The dude who's hand he was shaking was another inmate, looks like he was wearing a runner outfit.

Clarett is an idiot.
I've heard a couple rumors about Clarett both before and after this. Not sure on the vailidity of either. One was that he was being security/bodyguard for some big time guys around the east side the other was that he was selling guns now. I could believe the first one more though. I dunno.
Either way he is screwed right now. He'll plead out to a low count but the gun specs will kill him. I figure he'll get 10 years and be out in 7.

Good article, sharknut. Why didn't I know any of that stuff?
Now, as much as I want to believe that he was running paranoid from his rap scene creditors, you have this:
Clarett nabbed with guns after chase
Arrested near home of witness to testify against him
Thursday, August 10, 2006
Reginald Fields
Plain Dealer Bureau
Columbus- Former Ohio State football star Maurice Clarett was arrested early Wednesday wearing a bulletproof vest and packing a small arsenal of loaded firearms in his car, police said.
The arrest occurred not far from where one of Clarett's alleged victims from a dark alley New Year's Day robbery lives, a prosecutor said, a crime the former gridiron standout will be on trial for starting Monday.
Yikes! This makes it sound less paranoia, more out to accomplish something :?

I don't know what happen to this kid. He had a great future ahead of him after he help the bucks win the title back in 2002 but someone or something just got into his head and its been all down hill from there.
i don't know why he had the vest and loaded weapons, but at this point in his life, unless something or someone help him out, we will be hearing about him getting killed or killing someone.
he is a ticking bomb and the time is coming for that bomb to blow.
i can't feel bad for him b/c he is doing this to himself and putting himself mix in with the wrong things.
oh well. he'll be doing some jail time for sure.

On the radio this morning, they said that he will probably get an extra 18 months or so for this arrest. Not a bad as I would of thought.

Checked today, resisting arrest or any violent act while wearing a bullet proof vest carries a mandatory 2 years...without any of the other charges...and a judge can't deviate from that even if he was Clarett's dad.
Gonna be more than 18 months, and that's not even counting the armed robbery charge he pretty much just assured his conviction on.

As if to confirm, the 5 million dollar bond that just was set seems to dictate some serious stuff.
Also, ATF is now considering charges, which may mean the AK was converted and that the weapons were unlicensed.
Yeah, he's gone.

The plot thickens.

you have to be kidding me. this man had the world in his hand back in 2002 and now he was/is living running from the mob?! what the hell happen with this kid. if this as real as it says, he better watch his back in jail b/c we all know that in jail, that does mean you are safe from the people who wants your head on a plate. his life is going to a life of him in/out of jail and looking over his shoulder to see if anyone is coming up on him. this is a life that he could of avoided if he just kept his damn head on straight.

I say put this rabbid animal to sleep and lets move on with more important news, NOT like Jon Bennet.

Good for him. Haters will hate, just wait, but I am rooting for this redemption story. Minus prison, The Beast and I have some things in common- Youngstown, enrolling at OSU at the same time and taking a college hiatus, albeit for very different reasons ;) ... AH, I have just discovered my motivation: graduate before Mr. Clarett! Seriously though, I would love to see him complete the turnaround and prove the ignorance of a previous post ("I say put this rabbid animal to sleep") wrong.
BTW, Ken "The Shot blocker" Johnson is in one of my classes right now. It's like a time warp, for real.

No, he "phone blogged" to a family member or friend and they typed them up for him. We were questioning whether or not the blog was legit a couple of years ago.

I hope he does well and gets his degree.

so... to recap...
armed robbery
drunken not-very-high-speed chase
rams a cruiser
resists arrest
tasered (but wearing body armor so had to be subdued with pepper spray)
loaded guns in the car
ranting about the mafiaand... he's an education major now.
Someone might wanna tell him that they run background checks for teaching jobs nowadays. Just sayin'

Yeah, while I'm 100% supportive of his efforts to finish up his degree, he should realize there are a number of career paths that are simply closed to him at this point.
