City of Columbus Needs to Allow All-Day Parking on the Cap
As a patron of one of the businesses on the Cap I have seen first hand a lot for negative experiences that customers have thanks to the tow-away policy during rush hour. Despite the fact that this is posted it and drivers should be more responsible it doesn't change the fact that it hurts businesses here by leaving a sour taste in their mouth. Take for example a couple of businessmen who were in the middle of a meeting and were warned by an employee that they'll have to move their cars before 4 and had to go out into the pouring rain to move to another spot down the street. Today, a young woman whose car hooked up to the rear of the tow truck was pleading with the guy not to tow it, but to no avail.

Northbound, drivers have to get over into the left lane regardless due to cars parked on the street just north of the Cap: it makes no sense whatsoever to have a parking ban here. Southbound, High opens up to two travel lanes on the Cap. Maintaining a one-lane travel lane just a block further south would not result in any noticeable inconvenience and there is no COTA stop on the Cap that would hold up traffic. Removal of the parking ban here is way overdue.
