I'm asking this because I don't know where to look. Who is coming up next for reelection to City Council. When does the next seat come up. I'm about sick and tired of watching our city get manipulated and make dumb decisions while council sits by and watches. There's no fire on council and I think I'm finally have to stop talking about it and get off my ass and run. If I DO decide to run, you can be assured that I will be polling you guys to find out what the priorities of Columbus' real people want and need. It's time for someone in office that actually REPRESENTS what THE PEOPLE want.

After the Griggs boathouse deal, I got the distinct impression they were all doing what Mentel told them to do. And he was sick of hearing from the citizens.
As for who was pulling Mentel's strings, I don't know, probably some or all of the OSU trustees. I found it odd that neither Coleman nor Gee had anything to say about it, one way or the other.

City leadership has been disappointing me all year long.

They're elected to four year terms, so Miller, Paley, and Tyson are all in there until 2013. ETA: Mayor Coleman, and Council-members Mentel, Craig, Ginther, and Tavares finish their terms in 2011.
It's always good to bring in new people - kind of disappointed that didn't happen in '09.

City Council Members serve 4 year terms.
I think Craig & Tavares are both on their final years in their current terms, but I could be wrong. Can't recall if that means an election this fall or next May? Not sure where to find that info on the City Council website.
Edit: looks like Thory beat me to it. ;) Thanks for the info!

That seems to be the place. Start with a petition to get their name on the ballot.
Edit: No prob, Walker. I'm on lunch. :)
