This double bill could be subtitled “Tales from the Ohio Pen” and offers films based on writings by two outstanding authors who each did time in the Ohio State Penitentiary in Columbus. O. Henry’s Full House is based on five O. Henry’s short stories with stars including Marilyn Monroe, Charles Laughton, and Richard Widmark. Cotton Comes to Harlem comes from one of Chester Himes's famed detective novels about two Harlem policemen trying to stop a shady black nationalist leader from ripping off poor families.
