In trying to talk my 4WD chauffeur in to taking me to Chipotle for lunch and I've discovered that he hates cilantro. I loooove it and can't imagine anyone would find it less than amazing. Poor kid would have starved in my house....

I also do not care for it. It doesn't taste like soap or metal like the link you posted suggested, but I just don't really care for it. I am just beginning to like some Mexican-type food...and if it has a lot of cilantro, I cannot eat it. I thought I was just odd, but apparently this is common.

i was first introduced to cilantro in college and my first reaction was that it tasted like dirty dishwater. i have since come to really really like the taste of dirty dishwater apparently, because now cilantro is my #1 seasoning, to a fault. I put it on everyfreakingthing. Pizza, eggs, bagels, soups, pasta, etc.

I'm going to work on blue cheese this year so I might start with that, Snarf!! I don't know what happened to me as a kid, but I have it in my head that I hate blue cheese even though I have no recollection of ever actually eating it. I've grown to like a lot of stinky cheeses, no idea why this one I'm terrified of!!

I love cilantro, seed to leaf - could eat a pound a day. I think beer tastes like soap, however. Anyone with me?

*sigh* hate it. EXCEPT, I have always loved the cilantro sauce at El Arepazo.
Strangely, I can tolerate the mounds of cilantro you receive on tacos at taquerias, as long as it is balanced by tons of spice.
I can't do cilantro in Asian food, though. Nothing ruins a bowl of pho or a tasty banh mi like a handful of cilantro leaves.
