Columbus Film Council
1021 E. Broad St (carriage house in back)
Columbus, OH
Often the difference between a good indie production and one that is unwatchable is audio. The Columbus Film Council, in its efforts to help filmmakers in Central Ohio, is offering a location audio production workshop with master filmmaker Tom Hayes. Hayes, of Foglight Films, has been working in the “industry” for over 30 years, as an audio tech, cameraman, DP, and Avid Editor. He currently teaches postproduction at Ohio University, but previous to that position Tom worked on many, many productions as the “audio guy”. Tom’s own independent films have screened around the world and have received too many grants, awards, and accolades to list.
In this workshop Tom will be covering "best practices" in audio production for video and film including basic equipment requirements, mike placement, booming strategies, double system and single system recording, and preparing audio for post production.
$15 for CIFVF members
$35 for nonmembers
