I can't think of the name, but isn't there one on High St., more up towards So. Campus Gateway?
Oodles Noodles Bar on Neil is more pan-Asian and kind of mediocre, but they have some Chinese dishes on their menu.
There's that really bad place on Fifth in Grandview by Chipotle that keeps changing its name.
There's another one in Grandview that I've heard is really good, but I haven't tried it. But it's farther down on the end of town towards Marble Cliff.

Oriental Kitchen, or whatever it's called now...the place on Fifth by Chipotle...is hands down the worst food I've ever paid for.

I am not sure it is really good, but it is worth a venture.
I am blanking on the name (Peking Palace?), but it is a green shabby building on the S side of Fifth. They have two menus - ask for the authentic Chinese one. They also have Tiki drinks and used to have appropriate mugs. Last time I was there, the mug collection was radically diminished.
Very friendly folk. The typical fare is no better or worse than most. The Chinese menu is better.

Good call, as China Dynasty (if it's in you area) is actually really good, and Cafe Courier delivers it.

When I'm too lazy to drive to Happy Dragon, this is the go-to option for us.

I think because of ease of freeway, probably true. I mean it's literally at the exit on Livingston.

Mongolian BBQ is accessible for vic vlg people. but they don't deliver (that I know of)
other than that the only other good chinese in cols is Lee's china kitchen in the city center (down the walkway towards the hyatt) or pf changs at easton.

Check out Jason's Hunan Gormet on Main St. in Whitehall. This is my favorite chinese, albeit out of the way.

Yau's at 9th and High is the best Chinese I have found in the campus/Short North/Vic Village area so far. I love the shit out of that place, and uh, way closer than City Center or Easton.

Yau's is really tasty! Their tofu is usually perfectly cooked. Mmmmmmm.

so the short answer is no, there is not any decent chinese in vic village. the closest place being on 9th and high?

Spoiler Alert: Happy Dragon
A cook sat behind the counter on a slow afternoon, Clipping. Her. Nails. With a nail clip thingy, where they shoot out everywhere.
I looked at my brother and he looked at me and we booked.

I honestly think that if you knew what went on a chinese restaurants, and not just chinese but..., that you would never eat chinese again.
you need to accept them for what they are: good cheap fast food with most of the workers there from different countries with different ideas of what sanitary is.

Yeah, I've eaten at Happy Dragon probably a hundred times and never gotten sick from their food. The interior is a little grungy, but no more so than any other chinese stir fry joint.
