I'm sure you won't hold that against Monica Day. It's not like it's her fault there's a pageant you don't happen to like. The more accolades for Columbus or Columbus people the better I say.

i like monica day because when she first started on the news she really stank. i felt so bad for her. now she's awesome and i always feel happy for her when she does the traffic. ( i need to get out more)

I used to judge about 20 kid's pageants a year when my agency had a children's division.
It was truly hell on earth.

Ooooooh, I really need you to start drinking again so we can swap pageant nightmare stories. I've had a few, please god, if I hear one more version of Stormy Weather again I might die moments :)
And Merc is right, the USA program has always been the step-child of the pageant world because there's no talent competition :wink:

Are you referring to the award? if so then yeah basically. Essentially she's the most popular among the other contestants as the award to my knowledge the award is voted upon by the other contestants.
I still think that's quite an honor. It's nice when your peers think highly of you, some people prefer that kind of recognition to general fame. :D

heh well you never can tell on the internet
you're right about her future most likely, that's unfortunately a fact of life in a place like Columbus, if you work in tv or radio or whatever eventually you probably have to leave to move up in your field.
In my ideal future of Columbus, that won't be the case. :)
