10TV To Present Central Ohio 2015 Documentary
Tuesday, April 13, 2010
WBNS-10TV, as part of its ongoing initiative to help define the future of central Ohio in 2015, will present the first in a series of documentaries that gives viewers access to the insights and perspectives of the top visionary leaders who will help shape the development of our community in the next five years.
Nice little snippet of Walker in the commercial :)
Central Ohio: 2015
Why does this make me think it is the introduction to a TERMINATOR movie? I can see the beginning of the plot summary now:
"Across a bleak, post-holocaust landscape, a vengeful Mayor Michael B. Coleman (Arnold Schwarzeneggar) wanders alone..."
I also thought the intro sounded pretty dramatic.
Is Walker the hero from the future come to save the Columbus of today?

I can see that. It was done mostly as an attention-getter... Sounds like that worked (to a degree). :-)
As the co-producer / editor on this doc, I just want to say that we're really looking forward to getting this in front of the city and we hope you all can watch.
As you may know, commercial local television doesn't exactly do non-news programs, like documentaries, very often. Many of us think there is a market for it. If you want to see more stuff like this, please watch this one. I don't know of any other commercial station in the country doing something like this and we'd like to keep doing it if people watch.
To get an idea of what to expect, my co-producer, Rob Baca, directed the documentary "Welcome to Macintosh" which is currently running on CNBC and available online. It's pretty cool film on the history of Apple.
Thanks again everyone for your comments, suggestions, and even criticisms. We hope you can watch next Wednesday at 8pm on 10TV.
I actually have not seen the intro yet...I can't watch it on my computer at work (I am not allowed to load the plug in) and my Blackberry won't play it.
I don't suppose you could post it at Youtube.
UPDATE:
It is on Youtube. I have watched it now. I am eager to see the documentary.
Bump! This airs tomorrow! :D
Who's watching it?
I plan to watch (or at least DVR). It's the least I can do since they managed to slip in a quick clip of the Nordecke at Crew Stadium in the promo (which I happen to think is growing the city's image in the country's growing soccer community). Besides, I love this kind of stuff.
I'm one of the lucky few that have gotten a chance to see a preview. Rob and Dave have outdone themselves. I think you're going to really like it.
Help us get the word out and let's be proud of a great community and what it could become in five years! Share with all your friends and your social media channels!
Definitely hope everyone gets a chance to watch it. We've put a lot of time into it and we do hope you like it.
It airs tonight at 8pm on 10TV.
How long is it?
I hope I will get off work by then :(
It's an hour long.
Meeting up with an old friend tonight but have it programmed on my DVR. Looking forward to seeing it!
A shameless promotion bump... It debuts in 8 minutes. Thanks again everyone! We'd love to hear feedback.
Very well done with the possible exception of John Corby. Talk about grumpy old man.
I enjoyed it. Agree about Corby, but this is probably why I never listen to talk radio.
While I don't agree with some of what Corby said, I definitely think it was an important part of the documentary because it provided a different viewpoint. Overall I thought it was well done and I'd like to see more.
