I just took a tour of one of the best kept secrets in Columbus. There is a pretty damn impressive museum right here in Franklinton! It's called the Jubilee Museum & Catholic Culture Center. According to their literature the place is largest museum of "diversified Catholic artwork" in the United States! It's housed in the old 3-story school building at 57 Grubb and is owned and run by Holy Family Church on West Broad. You've seen the place 100 times-it's right there on the east side of 315 near the Broad Street underpass. They have artifacts, or relics(?) more than 400 years old.
Tours are free but by appointment.

I will have to plan a trip to this.

i've known they were there for a while. until today i really thought they wanted to below radar. perhaps for security. there are several rooms full of some very old very well preserved stuff from all over the world.

world class religion and science museums at opposite ends of east franklinton. one edged in by a river, the other, a freeway. nature is balanced by the man made, and religion by science... a new neighborhood about to emerge. 21st century american urban ch'i. eh? eh? anyone else feel a haiku coming on?
