Thanks @rivalbrand for bringing this back up. How do we get this movement started?

I did not even know this thread was out there when I posted this on the 'effort to move' thread ...
If Penn National is willing to pay for freeway ramps, would they be willing to pay for train access instead?
That location could be a jumping on/off spot with links to a larger Casino at another location. (This would accomodate convention visitors)
It could have some sort of rolling gambling train that makes it's way to Cleveland and Cincinnati.

A similar option was suggested from the audience about creating a high speed connector to casinos in Cincy and Cleveland in lieu of a Columbus Casino. Kind of interesting when similar ideas are surfacing from the Collective.Posted 2 years ago # -
The Casino Train idea was mentioned by 'John' a caller on the WOSU Allsides with Ann Fisher when she had Walker as her guest today (listen here)
He mentions that it seems Cleveland and Cincinnati would be supportive if Columbus decided to forgo a Casino. That way Central Ohioans could go North or South for our gaming adventures.

This could be the beginning of a whole series of Faustian logrolls. Wal-Marts with Starbucks drive-throughs in the parking lot... hunting ranges combined with free-range antibiotic-free butcher shops.

I did think about this thread when the caller mentioned the idea, but what he was saying wasn't quite the same. Tigertree is proposing the idea of gambling ON the trains, while the caller was discussing amendment language that would include funding for the train from the casinos and incentivize folks in Cleve/Cincy/Toledo to support Columbus opting out of their Casino by providing Central Ohioans an easy new way to travel to those other cities as a destination for gambling instead.

Does that come with unicorns and a pot of gold at the end of each rainbow for everyone as well?

If we had the pot of gold, we wouldn't need the casinos AND could afford to build the railroads. You make me smile, Core.
