Personally, I dislike the idea of having a casino in the Arena District, or anywhere downtown. But, if an alternative location can't be found, I have an idea.
How about all of the tax revenue generated from the casino stays within downtown Columbus? That money can be used for extra Policing, development, streetcars, streetscape improvements, etc. Also, it would be ideal to require the casino development to go through a design review board made up of local developers, architects, landscape architects, and urban planners to make sure the casino development becomes a positive attraction that can compliment the rest of the Arena District and Downtown.
