Call for Entries: Wonderland Science Fair
Would-be scientists and at-home tinkerers, hereʼs your chance to experiment in public. On Saturday, March 26, Wonderland Columbus and partner venue COSI will host the Wonderland Science Fair, an all-ages display of scientific and creative innovation. Participation in the fair is open to anyone ages 13 or up.
A panel of experts will bestow awards for “Most Creative†and “Most Science-y†projects, and a “Teen Prodigy†award for entrants under 18. A “Peopleʼs Choice†award will also be presented based on the results of visitor ballots. Prizes will be provided by Wonderland Columbus and sponsoring local businesses.
To enter, submit personal information and a brief description of the experiment on an entry form at wonderlandcolumbus.com . Completed forms must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. A $20 entry fee will be collected upon contestantsʼ arrival at the event on March 26. Proceeds will benefit Wonderland Columbus.
Science Fair Guidelines:
• Potentially hazardous materials (acid, flammables, explosives, anything generating strong noxious fumes, stabby things, etc.) will not be permitted.
• Experiments should fit on a standard six-foot buffet table. Surrounding floor space can
be used, as long as materials will not stain or otherwise damage flooring.
• Contestants needing access to electricity for their experiments should indicate this on the entry form.
• There will be kids - please, no illegal or sexually explicit subject matter.
• Contestants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
