On my way back from Red White and Boom I noticed a sign in/near the Huntington Building that said a Cafe Daniela was coming soon. I was wondering if it's the same Cafe Daniela as in Worthington?

I saw that too. I think the sign had a website, but I forget what it was. Can anyone post up a link?

Lists downtown as a location (coming Soon)

Perfect--I could use something a little more budget friendly than Due Amici for my Italian lunch cravings.

Thanks ZHC! I thought there was an extra letter in there, but I was trying cafedaNNiela.com and cafedanieLLa.com.

Np Walk
looks like it could be an interesting place.
I really think you'll see a lot more food come back now that City Center is gone. There's a decent amount of unmet demand for food options downtown.
Dirty Frank's, C-Town etc. It's going to keep happening and it's a good thing for everybody.

Thanks for the info! I haven't tried it myself but some of my coworkers have been disappointed with the consistency in take out at Cafe Isabella. I like Cafe Napolitana but it is good to see lunch options moving a little further south. The Lazarus building updates are really nice, hopefully it'll attract even more businesses.

Oops, forgot about Isabella. It is tasty and has good portion sizes, too. Pasta Diablo, or something along those lines, was my favorite for awhile.

Good for Caffe Daniela, and good for downtown.
I took Caffe Daniela pizzas to the last Pizza Grand Prix and people really seemed to like it (It's simple, but very fresh tasting).
Also...there's a double "f" in their spelling of Caffe (really). Don't ask me why, but it was pointed out to me, so I thought I'd pass it along.

why is this? regional Italian spelling? Cafe Isabella has 1 - i prefer the 1.

Etymologically speaking, caffe in Italian means coffee and cafe means informal restaurant. But maybe they're just bad spellers.

So who tried this today and what did you think?

I have been to Caffe Daniela twice in the past couple of weeks. The Pollo Panini is very good--Chicken breast, provolone and tomato basil panini. Fresh pasta salad comes as a side. I am normally not a cold pasta kind of guy, but this stuff is really good. It's great to have a quick, but not assembly line Italian place at Broad and High. I would recommend this place to any panini lovers.

It's a little pricey, but the food is pretty good. And it seems to be doing well, always pretty crowded for lunch.

Caffe Daniela Expanding to Evening Hours with Beer & Wine Specials
By: Walker
Following in the footsteps of other Downtown lunch spots such as J. Gumbo’s and Lexi’s on Third, Caffe Daniela is growing their hours of service into the evening by offering beer and wine service in addition to a casual dinner menu.
