The death of the music industry can be contributed to, #1-Clear Channel radio( for only playing,a repetitive loop of some of the worst american music ever created, because they were simply paid off by the major labels ), #2-MTV( for playing the videos of the same mindless music that Clear Channel was PAYED to play ), and of course #3-the major labels for screwing their artist for years.
I moved away from C-BUS years ago to NEW ORLEANS, in 2004 I returned to my hometown, only to find that the local music scene here was "STILL" plagued with the same infections that were the death the US music industry.
VERY SMALL MUSIC VENUES-with bad sound, no lights, never advertise their shows, pay bands peanuts, and are ALWAYS monopolized by some burnt out local rocker who's job it is to decide if YOUR band is GOOD enough to play their shithole club......p.s if you're a friend of theirs, you'll get top billing EVERYTIME. YES.. player hating is an epedemic!
LOCAL RADIO-who would rather play some slack-ass band from TEXAS or COLORADO before they give some hometown boys a chance ( play our music and let the people decide ).....p.s try mixing local music with national acts in PRIME TIME,..instead of having a 1 hour slot once a week that you openly advertise LOCAL HOUR ( which basically tells the listeners ) "HEY GUYS, TIME TO TURN, HERE'S SOME LOCAL SHIT THAT WE'RE GOING TO PLAY, DON'T EXPECT MUCH,...IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS SILVER CHAIR,..BUT HERE IT IS".
OUT DOOR FESTIVALS--question? WHO'S DICK MUST YOU SUCK TO GET THE into COM FEST. I wonder if the organizers realize that people are gettig TIRED of the same fucking bands every year. tip---PLEASE STOP BOOKING bands that the organizers are actually in...or worse,..their friend's band. I thought the INDEPENDENCE FESTIVAL was going to take the COM-FEST's shine,....but what do you know....they had the same fucking bands at the INDEPENDENCE FESTIVAL.
HATERS--yes I said it. to all you fucking haters from other bands,....guess what? it isn't a competition, how will this town become a "SEATTLE", if C-BUS bands don't scratch each others backs.
In short, this town is full of incredible, unheard of, under exposed bands that will never get to shine in the town because of my reasons listed,....hopefully, this town will wake up and support ALL bands, or we'll just keep loosing them all to NY and LA.
