Are YOU a fan of The Talking Heads? Do you LOVE David Byrne? My friends and I do! Would you like to see them right here is GLORIOUS Columbus, OH? I know we would! So why not do something about? Well, we have! You can find us on Facebook & Twitter. The first goal on the agenda is finding out how much & if it is possible to book David Byrne.

Ohio is seeing a lot of stress lately. Our economy is down, unemployment is up, and it doesn't seem like things are looking better anytime soon. David Byrne put on a skirt @ his show @ Alrosa Villa (!) around '97 (?). It was an awesome performance. Jerry Harrison had most of the Stop Making Sense line-up @ the Newport in the late '80's and the Tom Tom Club was hitting their stride when they played the Newport about the same time. Never got to see the Talking Heads live, but Stop Making Sense should be required viewing...

I saw David Byrne at the Allen Theater in Cleveland in 2008. The ticket cost me $10 (plus bullshit fees).

It was AWESOME.

I was at that Alrosa Villa show! With Jim White as opener, right?

It was great!

While we're at it, let's petition him to come live with me. And Jonathan Richman can come live with me too.

Was lucky enough to catch his show at the Newport in '99 or 2000.

I walked around for several days after with an evangelical look in my eyes, telling everyone that would listen about "going to Church." I think I even spelled it with a capital 'C' in my mind.

Saw him again at Bonnaroo, under slightly clearer circumstances, and he killed again. Easily one of the top five performers I've ever had the privilege of seeing live.

This is a great idea, and I should add that I've often thought of doing something similar for various bands and acts (Bad Brains, Super Furry Animals, I think I called Francis and the Lights). For the craven among us, it does work! Paul F. Tompkins' fans have successfully brought him to Toronto, Memphis, a slew of cities.

If he does come, he better bring Eno with him ;) Count me in!

Merc, we are going to that J. Richman show. By "we" I mean you are going, I am going, we need to bring everyone we know. And probably have a party afterward. It IS suspiciously close to my birthday.
